Seatbelt Detection
Save lives with accurate seatbelt usage for all occupants.
Neonode's seatbelt detection utilizes advanced computer vision technology to enhance vehicle safety by ensuring all occupants in a vehicle are safely restrained. The software can identify incorrect seatbelt usage—such as belts worn behind the back, on the lap only, or not at all. A key benefit is that the software can be installed as a stand-alone application, integrated as part of an existing driver monitoring system (DMS), and/or combined with other safety features in the vehicle.
Neonode's seatbelt detection allows OEMs to gain maximum points in the Euro NCAP safety rating for seatbelt misuse.

Meeting the Requirements
The 2026 Safe Driving Occupant Monitoring Protocol by Euro NCAP lays out the general safety requirements for seatbelt usage. It states that a vehicle's seatbelt reminder system must start at the commencement of each journey and trigger an audio-visual warning if the seatbelt is not worn, or, not worn correctly. In order to be awarded the highest possible safety rating for seatbelt usage, the system must be able to detect misuse for all passengers in the front and rear of the vehicle.
